Well, there I was, minding my own business, bothering no one...when all of a sudden
I was in the middle of a whole ton of musicians...some whom I knew, some I didn't.
Turns out that a whole bunch of them have web sites all over the place, but some didn't,
so it made perfectly good sense that as long as I had some web sites all over the place
too, that I should centralize some of these characters... So here goes...

The very first thing I have to do is thank the whole gang at the Blue Cafe in
Long Beach for getting me interested in the Blues!!! The Bosses - Vince, Kenny, Randy
the great Bartenders (Sherry, Lucky, Kelly, Louis, Brian, Tess, Marjorie, Pam, etc.),
Waitresses (Maureen, April, Jessica, Molly, Shelly, Candace, etc.), Door Guys (Chris,
Greg, Marty, Uve, Mikey, etc.) and the whole kitchen crew - You are the Best!

I did a separate section for the Blue and the bands that play there.

Reggie To start with, there's my pal Reggie Bannister... I've known Reg for years, even before he started to get really famous in horror movies... More of that when you get to the pages when you click on his picture. Every time I see Reggie, it puts me in mind of a churchyard in Long Beach where we used to get together and play music all day after Sunday Services and just as oddly, a now- defunct club called the West Coast Bodega where I worked as a bartender and did some sound engineering for the various acts that Reggie lined up to perform there and the old Cascades in Belmont Shore (now the Bayshore Saloon) where he played with Dennis DeCastro.

And then there's Dan Murphy... Saying anything about Dan is both not enough and too much... He plays just about anything he can get his mitts on and has written both the words and lyrics to numerous songs. His sense of humor and his timing is impeccible. And, he only breaks guitar strings at the most inopportune time... but there is always some other instrument lying around loose just screaming to be played.

Strangely enough, there are some of this menagerie who actually do NOT have web presences.
(We're workin' on that...) There are the Denk Brothers, Jeff and Gordy, who I met a bunch of
years back when the Springwater String Band was in its hey-day (and Kenny who has left us
here to take care of the music and stays in our hearts and minds). And the infamous Kap'n
Kula who actually knows the words to some of the more obscure sea chanties and other weird
tunes. We also have the Cardinal Brothers, Jeff & Joe, who between 'em have a lot of music
under their belts. Then there is the above-mentioned Springwater String Band - Kevin Campbell,
Michael Thompson, R. D. "Snuffy" Abbe, Alan Fisher, and yours truly... A force to be reckoned with!
And the great ladies, including Dora Gail Smith, Barbara Young, Linda Smith, and Rhonda Cardinal.

It's with great sadness that we must announce the passing of our friend, Bill Schreiber.
He was always a great pal, and always glad to lend a hand when we were playing music somewhere...
Bill, we love ya, you'll be missed!!
